Educational Visits

Schools & Educational Group Visits

Watching students walk into the Cathedral for their first school trip in over 2 years has been a joy. Students arrived with even more bounce and excitement than usual for their trip and it has been a pleasure to be able to provide awe, wonder and of course some cultural capital as they learnt outside the classroom.

Developed over 20 years our learning programme is designed to support the National Curriculum and examination specifications and cover a wide range of subjects from STEM and History to Religious Studies and Art. Our workshops consolidate what has been taught in the classroom and are adapted to reflect a group’s prior learning and the focus of their specific programme of study. Our stunning setting in a 1000 year old building with a brand new learning centre provides an excellent location for your visit and builds students cultural capital.

Activities and workshops cater for a variety of different learners and learning styles, with plenty of opportunities for SEN pupils, home-educated students, school and university learners and those committed to lifelong learning.

Our experienced team of educators and learning facilitators have received a Sandford Award for heritage education in acknowledgement of the quality of their work. Our team is committed to ensuring that your visit runs smoothly and efficiently and that our visitors have a truly memorable experience.

Even if you just want to bring a small group of students and guide them yourself, we ask that you get in touch with our team to ensure a smooth visit for yourselves and smooth operations for the Cathedral.
