Pinnacle | An Exhibition by Worcester Cathedral Stonemasons
Visit the Cathedral from Saturday 3 to Thursday 29 February to view 'Pinnacle' - an exhibition by our in-house team of stonemasons celebrating the recent pinnacle project and the skill and craftsmanship of the team.
In the early hours of 27 November 2021, Storm Arwen tore a pinnacle from the Northeast corner of the Cathedral Tower.
The stone fell through the roof of the North Quire Aisle, damaging the 14th Century vaulted ceiling beneath.
The vaulting and the roof were repaired in 2022, and the Cathedral stonemasons set to designing and constructing a new pinnacle to replace the fallen stone.
On 27 November 2023, exactly 2 years since the storm, the new pinnacle was blessed in a 'Topping Out' ceremony which marked the completion of the restoration work.
The exhibition will be on display during normal visiting hours.
