Archaeology Symposium 2026

Saturday 28 March | 9.30am & 1.15pm

Welcome to Worcester Cathedral's 31st Archaeology Symposium

This year we will be holding two sessions; repeating the same content.

9:30am or 1:30pm, in the Undercroft

 

Optional lunch for all to share in the Chapter House.

 

Our speakers:

  • Darren Steele: A career as Master Mason at Worcester Cathedral
  • Richard Newsholme: The 14th Century Nave Lady Chapel
  • Fiona Keith-Lucas: Archaeological summary, and the "hidden" door

  • Darren Radcliffe: The impact of the 1651 Battle of Worcester
  • Julian Davey: Have we found St Wulfstan’s Crozier?

 

Tea and coffee will be included in your ticket, with lunch in the Chapter House as an optional extra. A range of deitary requirements will be catered for.

 

Please arrive by 9:15am or 1:15pm depending on your session. Entry will be via the North door.

 

Disabled parking by prior arrangement. If you need support in making this booking, or have any questions / allergenic information, please email symposium@worcestercathedral.org.uk

 

A recording will also be made and can be ordered as a separate ticket. This will be shared via email within 2 weeks of the symposium.

 

Funds raised through this event will support the Cathedral’s ongoing running and renovation costs, wherever those funds can be most effective.
