New Assistant Director of Music Appointed

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Alexander Robson as Assistant Director of Music from September 2026.

Alex has held organ scholarships at St George’s Chapel, Windsor and Westminster Cathedral, and was organ scholar at St John’s College in Cambridge during his time as an undergraduate. At Worcester Alex’s role will be central to sustaining the musical life of the Cathedral, including playing the organ for the majority of cathedral services, and for directing the Voluntary and Youth choirs.

Alexander said: "Worcester Cathedral has an incredibly rich musical heritage, and I am delighted to be joining the team as Assistant Director of Music. I am excited to work with Samuel Hudson and all the choirs, and I look forward to becoming part of the Cathedral community."

Director of Music, Samuel Hudson said: "We are very much looking forward to welcoming Alexander to the team here at Worcester as our next Assistant Director of Music. We are sure that Alex’s musical gifts and experiences will be a great asset to us, that members of our choirs will very much enjoy working with him, and that the community at large will enjoy welcoming him to Worcester in the autumn."
