Wild Watercolours Painting and Drawing Workshop
Enjoy a day of botanical inspired watercolour painting with all art materials and flower specimens provided. This workshop is suitable for adult students at all levels from complete beginners to more experienced artists.
The morning session will begin with a welcome cup of tea or coffee, followed by tutor demonstrations of colour mixing and a variety of watercolour painting and basic drawing techniques. Starting with sketches and drawings, you will progress into painting, exploring and gaining confidence with tutor guidance. You can produce both realistic or more abstract artwork, inspired by a single petal or an interesting viewpoint of a flower. There is an option to enhance one of your pieces with gold leaf and a gilding demonstration will be given in the afternoon session.
Reference will be made to artists from throughout the history of western and oriental art, from manuscript illuminators to twentieth century painters. You may choose to work from photographs provided or from actual specimens at your own pace.
